What does CFP® mean?
CFP® means CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER. CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM
practitioners are required to complete coursework in five different content areas
which include: retirement, insurance, estate, investment, and tax planning. Once
all five courses are completed with an acceptable level of competency, the individual
is eligible to take the CFP® Board Exam. Most professionals compare
the CFP® Board Exam to the Bar Exam or the CPA Exam in terms of difficulty.
Working with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner guarantees
that you are working with someone who has a high level of expertise in the field
of financial planning.
