Who selects the investments for my account?

The planner you select to work with is responsible for selecting appropriate investments for your portfolio from a list approved by Sharkey, Howes & Javer's investment committee.

Our investment research staff is responsible for reviewing all asset classes at least quarterly and the current approved list of funds as compared with other mutual funds in the same asset class at least every two weeks.

The investment committee, which meets formally every two weeks, reviews the researchers' findings and votes on fund changes. Often, the planner will discuss your situation with the head of the investment department for a second opinion, and to assure that the investments selected for your portfolio are in keeping with your goals.
